Hartley College students recently achieved great success by winning the Prof. Kandiah Kunaratnam Gold medal for best Oration in science and Technology competition held by the Jaffna Science Association at the University of Jaffna for grades 10-13.
Anutharsan, a student from Hartley College, won the gold medal in the Tamil category, while Arjun, another student from Hartley College, won the gold medal in the English category. The competition consisted of two rounds: an 8-minute prepared speech on a given topic in the first round and a 10-minute impromptu speech on a given topic in the second round, with 30 minutes of preparation time.
