1979 – 2022

Kandeepan, an obedient & disciplined Hartleyite who upheld its values throughout his life though it was unfortunately shorter than many of us. He was an example to many through his humble attitude. All of you would agree with me that he never spoken harshly with anyone and always kept a positive attitude even at his last days.

The horrible thing can happen to anyone is that knowing their final days in this world. But Kandeepan kept his composure even at this situation. He worried a lot about his wife and lovely children. But you all can see the support here as he gained many people’s trust and love. We are here for you.

He started his life in Hartley college in 1990 at grade 6 and then moved to Colombo Hindu College in his later part of the secondary education. But many of his friends from Colombo Hindu college say that he was an exceptional character, and it was definitely from the roots of Hartley College. We are proud of you Kandeepan.

A passionate sportsman and played cricket during his school days and it is noted that he hardly missed his practice sessions and always punctual.

Kandeepan contributed a lot to our Alma mater in different ways, to the least through the HCPPA-UK as an Executive Committee member. He was a positive contributor and always put his thoughts and helped the committee on its decisions.

He continuously attended the HCPPA-UK events not just because of the affiliation to the association but for the passion towards Hartley college. Even at his final days, he wanted to pay his membership fee and interested to buy tickets for this year’s fund-raising event. Sadly, it will be misery to miss him at our events in future.

He always wanted to return something to the College by providing whatever the help he can, from physical representation to the monetary help. He was an enthusiastic towards his teachers and his friends.

Sad things can happen to people in many ways, but we do not know why God has chosen this method to Kandeepan; probably he wants to keep the best humans alongside with him.

Very sad ending but we need to cherish his life and send him off with great satisfaction since he lived as a good example to many.

Hartley College Past Pupils’ Association conveys its heartfelt condolences to his family and friends on behalf of the Hartleyites in the UK.

Ohm Shanti.
