Executive Committee, Advisory Council and the Vice Patrons of HCPPA-UK had a virtual meeting with our Principal Sir, Mr. T. Kalaichelvan on Saturday the 10th of April 2021.
HCPPA-UK expresses its gratitude to our principal for spending his valuable time with the committee and providing updates and information about the College related details.
The discussion was primarily focused on future developments of our Alma mater and much information shared with the aim of bringing our College to next level. The Principal and HCPPA-UK agreed the importance of working together with the College and all the Past Pupils’ Association around the world.
Following are some of the areas where improvements have been explored but not limited to,
1. Additional facilities to the library to improve the reading habits among the students. Library is also to be added with past national exam papers for at least 10 years for both A/L and O/L.
2. Further English teaching facility to improve students’ English Language skills including communication, presentation, and comprehension.
3. Additional mock exam facilities for A/L 2021 batch, followed by to the next O/L students.
4. Tuition facilities for those who wants to participate after school sports activities or whoever miss the lessons due to extra-curricular activities.
5. Formation and/or re-starting the Societies/Clubs, for example Medical Society, Engineering Society, Law Society, IT Society, Science Club, Photographic Club, Chess Club etc. This also can facilitate seminars and talks from the experts on their respective profession.
6. Enhance the facilities with modern equipment to the new laboratory which is being constructed and donated by Mr. Ian Karan. College administration will discuss with Mr. Ian Karan before exploring this further.
7. Sports – appointing a groundsman and cricket coach(s) for under 17 & 19 teams.
8. Hostel – College will propose the required enhancements and renovations to the Ian Karan hostel including external toilet facility for the visiting schools who uses the ground very often nowadays.
9. Infrastructure – Existing CCTV system to be made functional. Currently it has some technical and material issues.
10. Canteen Building – HCPPA-UK sponsored building is currently undergoing an alteration with an additional floor above the canteen floor. It is expected to complete within the months by ensuring all the necessary structural and safe use of the building including external stairs.
HCPPA-UK with the help of the Principal and other PPAs’ will prepare a Master Plan for the College’s future development, focusing short, medium, and long-term needs.
