This year is our 40th anniversary of HCPPA-UK. We would like to thank you for your continuous support to our Alma mater. Without your support, we do not think we could have run this organisation for four decades. Your continuous support will help to upskill our students’ performance and nurture their future.

  1. Membership Drive

HCPPA-UK is on a membership drive to increase its strength. Our gratitude to those who have already joined/renewed their membership for 2023. So far, we have 138 members, in which 91 – life members, 16 – 5 years members, and 31 – annual members. Our target for this year is to increase our membership to at least 200 before 31st May 2023. I kindly request all the Hartleyites to join as a member in HCPPA-UK and serve to our College. We have recently introduced an online payment portal on our website (https://hcppa.co.uk/join-us/) for membership payment. You can easily submit and pay your HCPPA-UK membership via our website. Please help us by passing this information to other Hartleyites in the UK.

 

  1. Natha Vinotham 2023

Thank you to all for your tremendous support to our Natha Vinotham. Once again, we have successfully completed Natha Vinotham 2023 with all of your support. We are sure you would have enjoyed the music from QFR. We will upload the photos and the videos on our website soon.

 

  1. Hartleyites Day and Battle of the Blues

The Hartleyites day and Battle of the Blues will be on Saturday 15th of July 2023. We will notify the venue and other arrangements closer to the event. Please save the date on your diary. If anybody wants to play the Battle of the blues, please contact us.

 

We are closely working with the Principal, Global trust and other PPAs to support our Alma mater. School is functioning regularly for academic activities. All the activity clubs have started. The first term exam will be in July. However, principal has arranged mid-term exam for Grade 6 – 11 students in May 24, 25 & 26. G.C.E. (O/L) exam will start on 29th of May 2023.

Our students are excelling in Sri Lanka Junior Athletic championships. S. Mithunraj got three Gold Medals for Discus throw, Put shot and Hammer Throw. He set the new Sri Lankan record of 43.61m for the discuss throw. U. Tharun got silver medal for under 16 Hammer throw. R. Sanjai got the silver medal for under 20 hammer throw and P.Mithusan got the silver medal for under 23 Discus throw. A. Nitharsan got the Gold medal for Hammer throw and set the new record of 35.19m under 18 category.

Another 6 students participated in Boxing competition and T. Mathivanan got bronze medal in the Youth boy 63.5 kg weight group event.

Coaching camp held by Hartleyites at School ground to provide training to students prior to participate the zonal and district sports meets. Principal has arranged coach for football and crickets. However, he is looking forward to appointing ground boy to maintain the ground.

HCPPA-UK extends our warmest congratulations to our students, Coach, teachers and principal.

 

School is providing free meal to all our students. This was funded by HCPPA-UK and other PPAs. This has been well received and appreciated by parents and the local community. Initially, the school meal programme was planned to provide for six months. However, now this has been extended for another six months considering economic situation in Sri Lanka.

Currently, 26 students are in our hostel. PPAs are supporting some extra tuition classes for hostel A/L students. Teachers are providing some extra class to our students at hostel.

The construction works for the canteen upper floor building has completed. This was funded by HCPPA-UK. Now the canteen upper floor building is utilised for fine arts teaching.
